Mohegan Sun Reports Lower Slot Revenues For May
Mohegan Sun on Monday reported a decline in slot revenue for the month of May, continuing a downward trend as Connecticut casinos compete with new and expanded gambling options in other states.
Mohegan Sun in Uncasville reported $51.7 million in revenue from slots last month, down 5.8 percent from the same month in 2013 when the casino brought in $54.9 million. The total amount wagered at Mohegan Sun, called the slots' handle, was $637.08 million last month compared with $655.4 million in May 2013.
The casinos contribute one-fourth of slot revenues to the state. Mohegan Sun contributed $13.06 million for last month, down from $13.7 million for May 2013.
