When an INDEPENDENT 'Casino Study Committee' determined that the ANNUAL costs to host a Mohegan Sun Slot Barn would be $19 MILLION to $39 MILLION, the Town Council refused to publicly air the report.
Not to let go of a wrong-headed decision, tied to a financially insolvent partner, Paul Burns' obsession continues.
Being blinded by the glitter of Fools' Gold is no longer an excuse.

Palmer, Mass. —
The leader of the town council in the western Massachusetts community where Mohegan Sun is planning to build a casino is formally inviting other developers to visit the town.
Palmer Town Council President Paul Burns urged Mohegan Sun to be “open” to a “big” approach to the planned casino.
“...To ensure Palmer is chosen it will be vitally important for Mohegan Sun to partner with other developers who can support this vision,” Burns said in a Wednesday press release. “I urge other interested developers, whether in the casino, hospitality or some other field to visit Palmer to see all we have to offer.”
A Mohegan Sun spokeswoman didn’t have any immediate comment.
Mitchell Etess, CEO of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, the Sun’s parent entity, reiterated support for the Palmer casino during the Eastern Connecticut-based authority’s earnings conference call earlier this month but didn’t name any potential partners. He also said he doesn’t expect the license selection process to begin in earnest until early 2013.
