C.A.S.I.N.O.: Calling All Suckers Inside Nothing Offered

An ardent casino cheerleader (Jay Ash of Chelsea) who falsely believes the casinos in Canada, specifically Ontario, are simply wonderful caused me to pay greater attention to our neighbors to the north.

As revenues have declined due to market saturation and sucking every last discretionary dollar from their economy, Canada has taken extraordinary steps to further promote gambling, essentially removing reasonable loss limits, and adapting necessary steps to increase the number of enslaved gambling addicts among its population.

A recent report indicated that 20% of 'problem gamblers' will commit suicide.

In the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 6% of the population would be + 300,000 people (who would also impact families and others). That would be 60,000 residents, our friends, our neighbors, our relatives, we would willingly toss aside for the sake of accepting the false solution of gambling revenues instead of sensible fiscal policies.

What are those lives worth?

And how much could Beacon Hill save by eliminating the patronage and cronyism?

Glitter is gone
So the casinos in Ontario have lost $75 million.

The glitter must be gone or is it because they don't pay out as much as they should. Knowing our greedy government in their quest for the money out of the pockets of the people, they have probably rigged the slot machines to not pay out as much as they once did.

A friend of mine who does go there still said that you hardly ever hear the bells go off signalling a winner at one of the slot machines anymore. And the casinos have probably tapped out all those that did have money to lose there. I said to my friend why do you still go there if you can't win any money?

Also I said to him don't you know the acronym for casino? It stands for Calling All Suckers Inside Nothing Offered. I was foolish enough to think that I could win some money at the casino and boy did I get a quick lesson on how to lose my money.

So I stopped going and on my last visit there I lost my money as usual. So I went to the players advantage booth and said to the attendants there that I would have more fun if I took my money and threw it in the Niagara River and I never went back.

They haven't gotten another penny out of me and never will. And most people who still like to gamble tell me that the go over to Niagara Falls, N.Y., to do so because they pay out more than the casinos in Niagara Falls, Ont.
