We're extraordinarily grateful and humbled by your
support over the last several months, and in many instances, the last few years.
We fought hard and overcame every obstacle that was placed before us. We defied
the odds time and again--securing the signatures to get on the ballot, fighting
to earn a unanimous vote in our favor in the Supreme Judicial Court, and forcing
the casino industry to spend millions.
We couldn't have done it
without your passion,
dedication, and resilience. You've stood out in the heat and the rain, canvassed
neighborhoods throughout the state, and made thousands and thousands of calls.
Together, we fought for a Massachusetts future without casinos.
We ran this campaign because we care about our
communities, and that doesn't change with the results of Tuesday's vote. It's
now up to all of us to ensure that our state leaders, the casino executives, and
the Massachusetts Gambling Commission live up to their promises. As Thomas
Jefferson said, 'the price of Liberty is eternal vigilance,' and we will be
watching closely.
It's been an honor and a privilege to stand alongside so
many wonderful volunteers and supporters. I'm proud of the work we did
together.
Thank you,
John Ribeiro
