Pete Rose goes to church to preach about Pete Rose

Massachusetts ‘Gaming’ Future

Pete Rose would have gone through a wall to get on base, two walls to score a run, and three walls to make a bet. And you would have to be naive to think Pete Rose didn't cheat or didn't do anything to affect the outcome of a game that he had a bet on. But what bothers me the most about his demise is that he never addresses his compulsive gambling problem. Think about all the good that would have come about if Pete would have spent some of that time he does selling his autograph and was out at speaking engagements educating the public especially the youth of America about his gambling addiction. Who knows how many individuals and their innocent loved ones would be in a better domestic and financial situation today after hearing their sport hero confess the truth about how this hideous addiction destroyed his career. Maybe that would have gotten Pete into the Baseball Home of Fame? Now you may disagree with me, and I can understand that, after all, who wants’ to believe what an ex-casino gambling degenerates has to say.

Philadelphia Inquire - March 31, 2014 - Pete Rose goes to church to preach on second chances

When the leaders of a Royersford church in this Montgomery County community wanted to offer a Sunday teaching on second chances, they turned to an expert: Pete Rose.

Famously banned from baseball for betting on games as a manager, Rose took a seat on a brightly lit stage at Christ's Church of the Valley to talk about his life in the game and why he should be allowed back into it.
