Since Slot Barns attract solely LOCALS and Gambling Addiction increases within a 50 mile radius, this should be of concern to all within that radius.
It has already been discussed publicly that the proposed Slot Barn will expand to include Table Games.
Surrounding communities should be prepared to address the need for LOW INCOME housing to avoid the Hot Bedding, sub-standard housing that has been problematic in Connecticut, as well as additional issues surrounding Predatory Gambling. [See the Spectrum Gaming Report prepared for the CT DOSR.]

Plainville Board of Selectmen to meet with Plainridge
Monday, February 25th,
7:30PM
Plainville Town Hall
142 South Street
Gary Piontkowski of
Plainridge Racecourse will appear before the Plainville Board of Selectmen to
discuss "Plainridge Status & Update."
It's unclear whether
Piontkowski will address the new blasting at Plainridge or the concerns being
expressed by selectmen in Mansfield and Foxborough about the slot barn. Usually
these appearance before the Board are a love fest. I don't expect this will be
any different. Still, we should try to attend and at least let him see our
faces.
