Corruption trumps
Howie Carr’s column about a new Gambling Oversight Commission proposed by Gov. Deval Patrick states it exactly as it is (“Hey gov, I bet it’s corrupt,” July 29 [no longer available on line] ).
Business as usual in Massachusetts and corruption trumps. Has there ever been an official politician leaving his or her position poorer than when he or she entered it? Even the indicted and convicted hacks land on their feet through a special interest!
Simply put, the consistent lack of political ethics should be referred to for what it truly is: Lack of honor!
— Deborah A. Murphy, Plympton
The failure of ALL of Beacon Hill to address the ongoing issues of corruption taints many honest and hard working elected officials who inform themselves about the importance of their votes, conduct their research and frequently, oppose leadership.
