Okay, first New Jersey takes $250 million dollars of TAXPAYER money and give it to the casino. Then the casino files for bankruptcy anyway.
Be thankful you don't live in New Jersey (we'll get back to you on the Massachusetts debacles).
NOW, Delaware PAYS the casino $8 million dollars in (you get guessed it) taxpayer money so the casinos won't start firing people:
So, If I understand this correctly, the casinos come to town riding a big horse and tell us all the money THEY are going to give us. Then, limping a few years later, they tell us that if we don't give them OUR money, they're going to start firing people or even close shop altogether.
"Wow, what a deal. We'll take 4" (says Deval Patrick and our State Legislators)
You know what to do . . .
John
