With Caesars / Suffolk Downs spending millions
to influence votes in East Boston, how will your donation help? Every little bit
helps. Consider:
- $2 pays for 40 phone calls to neighbors from one phone.
- $5
pays for one window/yard sign. (below) Could you buy signs for your
entire block?
- $10
pays for 2 hours of door-knocking / flyering.
- $50
pays for one visibility in Maverick or Central Square.
- $100
pays for a roundtable meeting with community leaders.
- $500
helps defray the weekly cost of a No Eastie Casino organizer
We
appreciate your help in assisting No Eastie Casino in raising $12,000
before September 1 to defeat the casino proposal here. (To put this
amount in perspective, MGM spent $12
million influencing votes leading up to the Springfield referendum last
week. Caesars/Suffolk Downs may spend even more.) If you think about it,
whatever you are able to give will be a small investment compared to the
long-term social and economic costs of living with the country's third-largest
casino down the street.
Time is of the essence. Our efforts in the neighborhood are ongoing,
but we expect a mitigation agreement to be released any day -- which sets the
clock ticking for a vote 60-90 days later. We don't have much time, and we
appreciate anything you can give now. Thank you for your continued
support!

with a point-by-point response to the mitigation agreement once it is
released.
