SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - There's a vigorous vote 'YES' for Springfield campaign underway to try and get people to support MGM's casino plan for the city.
But Saturday, about 100 latinos listened to church leaders on Main Street and they talk about the potential negative impacts of an urban casino. Including crime, social, and quality of life impacts.
People in Springfield's North End told 22News they're not sold on the idea that a casino would be in the best interest of the city.
Springfield voters will have to either say yes or no to a Springfield casino when they go to the polls for a referendum vote on July 16th.
