Plainville/Plainville Pickles' Slot Barn

By NoPlainvilleRacino

The Plainville Selectmen had their meeting tonight to approve the Host Community Agreement. You could count the number of Plainville residents in attendance on one hand. It was one big, self-congratulatory love fest between the Board and Plainridge — as anyone could have predicted.

Chairman Bob Fenessey refused to allow a question asking if there was any information or concern about whether the Attorney General is STILL investigating Plainridge for charitable gaming law violations for the so-called "Plainridge Raffle." When it was suggested that the information might have some bearing on whether the HCA should be approved, he cut off the question.

Why aren't the selectmen at ALL concerned that they are agreeing to do business with a company that might already be in violation of Massachusetts Gaming Law?

Slot Barns cater to LOCAL traffic, LOCAL patrons.

Parx is a great example, bragging that their 'patrons' visit 3 or 4 times each week.

That's GAMBLING ADDICTION!

Of patrons' visits:

"You said 150 to 200 times a year," he repeated. "That's three to four times a week, essentially."

"Yes," Jonas confirmed, most of his players fit that profile. In fact, because Parx players tend to live within 20 miles of Street Road, many go even more frequently.

"We have customers," Jonas boasted, "who give us $25, $30 five times a week."
