CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- Chula Vista police say one of their officers has been arrested on suspicion of illegally adding more chips to a bet that he already won at an Indian casino.

The officer - 30-year-old Jesus A. Salazar - was released from a San Diego County jail Friday after posting $10,000 bail.

Salazar was arrested Thursday night at the Sycuan Casino near San Diego and booked on suspicion of violating state gambling law.

Police spokesman Bernard Gonzales said Friday that the nine-year veteran of the suburban San Diego police force will be put on unpaid administrative leave, pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

The spokesman says Sycuan tribal police also arrested Salazar in April on suspicion of driving under the influence.
