Gilley takes witness stand
County Crossing casino developer Ronnie Gilley has taken the witness stand to testify against his former co-defendants in Alabama's gambling corruption trial.
Gilley sat down on the witness stand late Thursday afternoon in federal court in Montgomery. He is expected to continue testifying Friday.
Gilley was originally among the 11 people indicted on charges of buying and selling votes on pro-gambling legislation. But he pleaded guilty in April to offering millions in bribes to legislators.
Two of his lobbyists have also pleaded guilty and are cooperating with prosecutors.
