The pundits who predicted Alabama’s gambling corruption trial would be a can’t-miss legal affair were right.

Wow, were they right.

On the list of potential witnesses for the prosecution and defense released Monday is a veritable who’s-who collection of Alabama state government, current and former.

Pick a name: Bob Riley, Del Marsh, Scott Beason, Mike Hubbard, Troy King, Lowell Barron, Seth Hammett ... there are too many to list here.

Alabama state government itself isn’t on trial, but don’t think for a minute that all of its dirty laundry will stay hidden from view.
