Bucks County Courier Times - October 21, 2013 - Brooklyn man charged with leaving kids in car while gambling

A New York man is facing child endangerment charges after Bensalem police say he left his two children in his minivan for nearly two hours while he went gambling....

Bensalem police arrested Yu Long Ye, 37, of Brooklyn, after responding to a report of two small children alone in a car in the parking lot of the Parx casino on Street Road in Bensalem Saturday night around 10:30 p.m.

Casino security directed police to a 2011 Toyota Sienna where the children — 8 and 11 year-old siblings — were lying in the rear storage compartment, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Police located Ye inside the casino and when he was asked where his children were, he responded they were in the car asleep, police said.

An investigation found that another casino customer had reported seeing the children in the car to casino security around 9 p.m. — a half hour after Ye entered the casino — but security couldn’t immediately locate the children, police said.

Ye was arraigned Sunday on two counts of endangering the welfare of children, and sent to Bucks County prison in lieu of 10 percent of $10,000 bail. Court documents did not indicate what happened to the children.
