Massachusetts ‘Gaming’ Future

Sen. Pileggi is a major player in our Senate. He was instrumental in getting our Gaming Bill passed in 2004. Back then our lawmakers promised that the ‘BILLIONS’ of dollars lost by Pennsylvanians in our casinos was going to reduce up to 50% and in some cases eliminate property taxes, but that never happened. Now Sen. Pileggi wants our State to ‘BREED’ more compulsive gamblers who will become criminals. But yet he, like the rest of our lawmakers doesn't gamble in our casinos and nor will they participate in his new gambling venture.

HARRISBURG — In the latest wrinkle in a decades-old debate, the state Senate majority leader proposes freezing senior citizens' school property taxes and possibly paying for it by legalizing video lottery games.

Sen. Dominic Pileggi, R-Delaware County, wants to freeze property taxes for homeowners 65 and older, whose fixed incomes typically are affected the most by rising real estate taxes. Legalizing keno-style lottery games is one potential source to pay for the freeze, Pileggi suggests.
