Man spits at fellow poker player at Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, police report
A Northumberland County man allegedly spit in the face of a poker player Wednesday morning at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, according to court papers.

Police say Michael C. Wert II, 27, of Coal Township, Pa., was playing Texas Hold 'Em at the Bethlehem casino about 1 a.m. when another player criticized him for failing to tip the dealer for the latest hand. Court records say Wert and Chad Lepes, 25, argued for a short time before Wert walked over to his side of the table and spit in Lepes' face.

When security caught up with Wert, he admitted to spitting at the victim, but provided authorities with a false name and date of birth, according to court records.

Wert was arraigned Wednesday before on-duty District Judge Diane Marakovits on charges of providing false information to officers and harassment. He was released in lieu of $750 unsecured bail.
