Massachusetts Gaming Commission reaffirms view that casinos should market tourist attractions The State Gaming Commissioner said this week that prospective casino developers will be judged on their plans for promoting tourism in each of the state's three zones. Suffolk Downs Chief Operating Officer Chip Tuttle released a statement Friday evening explaining that the track had asked Caesars Entertainment, which operates casinos around the country from Las Vegas to New Jersey and New Orleans, to withdraw as a qualifier from its casino license application based on concerns raised by a state background check.

Unresolved communication problems between the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah) and the town of Aquinnah have led to concerns about future fire protection for tribal buildings.
