Leominster voters pass slots casino proposal

LEOMINSTER — Supporters hoping to see a casino built in Leomisnter hit the jackpot with voters, winning a referendum 5,235 to 3,306 Tuesday. The vote paves the way for Cordish Companies of Baltimore to make final application to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to build a casino with 1,250 slot machines on Jungle Road near the junction of Interstate 190 and Route 117.
