Today's "Eastie Challenge" Campaign
Update:
Yesterday, volunteers took thousands of postcards with the truth about casinos -- printed because of your generosity over the last several weeks -- door to door throughout the neighborhood. Signs, also printed with donated money, will soon be popping up everywhere. Will we raise enough to print and distribute even more materials? Sponsor an impacts forum? Buy a billboard? That's up to you! Great first day of our weekend challenge, by the way: Amount raised yesterday: $930 Total raised in campaign: $2,800 % of goal at day 4/10: 28% Tip of the day: It's Sunday, so mailed checks won't be counted in today's total. Today's a great day to donate online! Donor quote of the day: "On the surface, a casino at Suffolk Downs can look deceivingly good, and I think that will be a lot of voters' automatic response. After looking into the long-term negative effects a casino will undoubtedly have on our community, the decision is obvious: I support No Eastie Casino because I've done the research and I love East Boston." - Ryan Forsyth |
