Massachusetts Gaming Commission officials expressed concern Thursday about the availability of State Police to staff a slot machine venue and resort casinos as they open.
During the regular bi-weekly meeting in Boston, the commission’s director of investigations Karen Wells told commissioners she was in discussions about securing space in a State Police class that is scheduled to start in November. Wells said the commission would need about eight State Police members to staff a slots parlor and the commission will eventually need more State Police at resort casinos targeted for three regions of the state.
