Agency promoting Falls growth faces budget cuts

The budget challenges faced by the City of Niagara Falls could be jeopardizing the efficacy of one of the city's most productive assets.

USA Niagara Development Corporation has been the catalyst behind a number of progressive developments in the city of late, among them the new downtown culinary institute. In an effort to avoid tax increases, a proposed budget would slash contributions to USA Niagara. A vote on the budget has to be taken before December 15th.

Negotiations between the city and the Seneca's over $60 million in casino revenues continue.
