Maryland Live! to begin 24-hour gambling

HANOVER -- Maryland Live! is offering a belated Christmas gift to gamblers: 24-hour slots play beginning Dec. 27.

"The fun never stops," according to a news release from casino officials.

The announcement comes after 52 percent of voters approved Question 7 during last month's election. That vote allows for a casino to open in Prince George's County, the operation of table games in Maryland, and 24-hour gambling.

Currently, the casino is open 8 a.m. to 2 a.m., seven days a week.

"Everyone at Maryland Live! is very excited that 24-hour gaming in Maryland is about to become a reality,” said casino President Robert Norton. “We’re also hard at work making preparations for the arrival of approximately 150 live table games."

The casino plans to open table games beginning this spring.
