Gamblers bet $31.5M on slots at Erie casino

Gamblers wagered $31.5 million on slot machines at Presque Isle Downs & Casino during the week of Nov. 19-25.
The amount returned to gamblers was $28.3 million, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported.
The gross revenue -- the amount of gamblers' losses -- was $2.5 million, after subtracting $736,012 in promotional free plays.
Of the gross revenue, more than $1.3 million went to the state and more than $1.1 million to the casino.
During a comparable week in 2011, from Nov. 21-27, gamblers wagered $41.7 million. The amount returned to them was $37.8 million.
The record for slots wagers in one week was $57 million, set during the week of July 5-11, 2010.
