The subject matter will be Foxboro's "surrounding community" agreement with Penn National, the applicant for the slot machines. The agreement would create a
$250,000 trust fund to offset any problems that might arise in Foxboro from expanded gambling at Plainridge, which is located on Route 1 in nearby Plainville.
The proverbial pee in the snow! Who believes that's reasonable?
The commission and Plainville have conducted a number of hearings on gambling and a decision on who to award the slots license to is expected next month.
