REPEAL THE CASINO DEAL - Our Legal Team Needs Your Support

REPEAL THE CASINO DEAL - Our Legal Team Needs Your Support

Friends and Colleagues –
Happy New Year! Having managed the herculean task of obtaining over 70,000 certified signatures to put the REPEAL Initiative on the 2014 statewide ballot, the next critical step in the remarkable citizen grassroots effort to allow the People To Vote on the introduction of Casinos and Slots in MA is the Supreme Judicial Court challenge to the AG denial of ballot certification. Ensuring that we can field a quality legal team is our major priority right now.
RTCD has attracted an SJC legal team that will be led by some of the finest election law and appellate court experts in the Commonwealth, and they have generously offered their services at steeply discounted rates. We must seize this opportunity and raise the funds now to guarantee that we meet their very reasonable request for a minimum level of legal fees. Please help by making a contribution –in whatever amount you can – by donating now online at this link on the website. (You may also, of course, send a check made out to Repeal The Casino Deal to me here, or to John Ribeiro at 15 James Avenue, Winthrop, MA 02152)
As you may know, the local mobilization of 100s of volunteers and the statewide REPEAL effort to let the PEOPLE VOTE has now become a National story! (click here to read) We will never have the money of the deep-pocketed casino industry, but this energized and growing grass-roots campaign will succeed if we have the continued support of people like you. We welcome funding to grow our ongoing media momentum, so we can keep this public interest movement in the public eye and advance the remarkable progress we are making on the legal and the public policy front.
But, for now, my friends and colleagues, we must ensure that we can field a quality SJC legal team to overturn the denial of ballot access by the Attorney-General. Please help us.
Thank you very much.
