Plainville Selectmen's Meeting: Monday, August 12th 6:30 PM

Plainridge was disqualified from holding a Slot Barn license by the Massachusetts Gam[bl]ing Commission, due to .....

Plainridge: “a culture of fear and concealment pervasive in the operations”

‘‘Little to none’’ of Grogan’s experience is in the gambling arena and improvements he’s claimed to have made to Plainridge ‘‘serve neither to entirely neutralize the past transgressions,’’ the commission said.

“ 'We’ve come too far to alter course,' Town Administrator Joseph Fernandes said Thursday in an interview..." — as Plainville drove off the cliff and into the abyss.

Future EXPANSION is known!

It was openly discussed at an Educational Forum conducted by the Gam[bl]ing Commission in 2012 - NO SECRET!

The justification will be the need to COMPETE, just as it was for Twin River in Rhode Island.

Whoever or Wherever the Slot Barn license is awarded needs to be prepared and the Agreement needs to include provisions for that FUTURE EXPANSION which will include Table Games and additional Slot Machines.

In other words, a Casino with no amenities!

“This is, potentially in two years, a full-blown casino, which scares the hell out of me,”.....

Please don't short-change Plainville and surrounding communities and plan to attend this meeting.

The Plainville selectmen's agenda for tomorrow night (Monday, August 12th) includes this item:

"Special Election - Approval of Warrant and Workers."

We assume the selectmen will cancel the September 10th election on the Host Community Agreement, but anyone who can be there might want to show up, just in case...
