In a brief district court appearance Thursday, Maria Andujar of Glenloch Street agreed to waive to trial the three charges of endangering the welfare of children and plead guilty on the remaining count.
She remains free on $50,000 unsecured bail.
Bensalem police say that Andujar left her three children – ages 9, 11 and 12 — inside a Dodge van parked at Parx on a day last month when the temperature was 32 degrees. The car keys were in the ignition, but the engine wasn’t running, according to a probable cause affidavit.
When police asked the children where their parents were, the 12-year-old said her mother ran inside the casino “for a few minutes.”
Andujar returned to the car as police were speaking to her children and told police she was inside the casino for “just a few minutes” to get a heater she was told she had won, according to the affidavit.
Police said surveillance video told a different story, showing Andujar gambling on a slot machine for nearly a half hour.
