A Middletown couple who took their chances at a local casino and ended up facing criminal charges for allegedly leaving their kids home alone agreed Wednesday to forgo their preliminary hearing and have their case go directly to Bucks County Court.

Nicole Donahue, 25, and Ryan Feyh, 29, of Veterans Highway are each charged with two counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person in the May 25 incident. Each remains free on $25,000 unsecured bail.
The two were arrested after police said their 2- and 4-year-old sons were left unsupervised at home. The toddler got out of the home and was found wandering in a nearby supermarket parking lot, police said. He was found unharmed by a customer at the New Falls Road store shortly before 1 a.m., they added.

While checking an adjacent apartment complex, police said they found an open front door and the boy’s brother alone inside the apartment.

Police said a neighbor told them that she received a text message earlier in the evening from Donahue
asking if the neighbor would watch the boys if she and Feyh went to the casino “around 11 (p.m.)”

The neighbor told police that Donahue later called her and said the apartment key would be in the mail slot, but police said the key would be inaccessible, according to court documents.

After the neighbor called Donahue and Feyh, they arrived home, police said. They initially said they left the kids to run a few errands, but later admitted they were at the Parx Casino in Bensalem, according to court documents.
