One of the arguments employed to justify legalizing Gambling is to prevent illegal Gambling.

1 in custody after investigators crack alleged multimillion dollar Staten Island-based gambling ring

Investigators were at a private house on the 300 block of Westwood Avenue this morning.
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- One man is in custody after cops and federal investigators brought down a multimillion dollar gambling operation based on Staten Island.
Joseph Stentella, 56, was arrested when cops went to his Westwood Avenue home shortly after 6 a.m. He is charged with enterprise corruption, promoting gambling and money laundering, all felonies, according to a New York Police Department spokesman.
Staten Island Advance/Irving SilversteinCops entered Pawz & Clawz Pet Supplies this morning to collect evidence.
The NYPD and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement members also raided Pawz & Clawz Pet Supplies, a yet-to-be-opened business on Manor Road. Advance records show that Stentella incorporated JM Classic, Inc. at the same address in 2000.
District Attorney Daniel Donovan and members of the NYPD Organized Crime Control Bureau and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are scheduled to announce particulars of the operation this afternoon.
Members of the NYPD were seen entering Pawz & Clawz in the Manor Heights Shopping Plaza after 6 a.m. The business has signs in the window that it is opening soon.
Cops also collected evidence at the Westwood Avenue home, of which Stentella is listed in public records as being the homeowner.
