Mass. gaming panel to get final 2 members
By Associated Press

BOSTON — A key milestone for the state’s new casino gambling law could be reached within days.

Gov. Deval Patrick, state Treasurer Steven Grossman and Attorney General Martha Coakley have until Wednesday to jointly fill the two remaining spots on a five-member commission that will oversee gaming in Massachusetts.

The law set a March 21 deadline for completing the panel and the state leaders have indicated they will reach agreement on their picks by then.

Patrick earlier named Stephen Crosby, a dean at the University of Massachusetts-Boston, to chair the panel that will award up to three licenses for resort casinos and one slots parlor license.

Coakley appointed former New Jersey state police investigator Gayle Cameron to the panel. Grossman tapped Enrique Zuniga, current head of the Massachusetts Water Pollution Abatement Trust.
