Casino security pictures ID man sought in burglary
BILOXI -- Security pictures of an auto burglary in the IP Casino parking lot led to tips that helped identify Kevin Van Tran as the suspect, police said.
The vehicle's owner reported the inside of his car had been ransacked Sept. 18 and several items were stolen. Surveillance video showed Tran, a regular at the casino, burglarize the car and leave in a different vehicle, police Sgt. Steve Schlicht said.
Police had released a picture and information asking the public for help. Police arrested Tran, 22, of D'Iberville, on Saturday. He was held at the Harrison County jail on a $10,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.
Anyone with information about the case or other crimes in Biloxi is asked to call police dispatchers at 392-0641 or investigators at 435-6112.
