CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Penn National Gaming is still considering its casino options in Western Massachusetts.
The 22News I-Team discovered that Penn National Gaming and Chicopee officials spoke as recently as last week and more talks are expected in the future.
In a statement sent to the 22News I-Team, Penn National Gaming said "it is continuing to consider their options in Massachusetts and have made no decisions at this time."
Springfield selected MGM over Penn National, but Penn National paid its $400,000 application fee to the state, so it is free to apply for a license anywhere else in the state.
