Erie casino slot revenue drops 8.6 percent in May

By JOHN GUERRIERO, Erie Times-News

Presque Isle Downs & Casino's gross slot-machine revenue dropped by 8.6 percent in May compared with May 2012.

Seven of the 11 casinos in Pennsylvania experienced revenue declines, and overall, the state's revenue dipped slightly, by 0.57 percent.

The Erie-area casino generated $11.9 million in revenue from its slot machines, down from just over $13 million in May 2012, the gaming board reported.

The slot-machine revenue was up slightly from April's $11.8 million, when the Erie casino saw a 16 percent revenue drop from April 2012.

The casino has added more than 100 new slot machines this year, and Tamburelli said it will be adding more this month
