IT'S understood the PFA have noticed the number of stars coming forward saying they have a problem has doubled and Twaddle admitted the reaction to his book has surprised him.

THE gambling hell of SPL star Kevin Twaddle has caused other footballers to seek help.
Last week, we told how the former Motherwell and Hearts player was driven to the brink of suicide after squandering £1million at the bookies.

The 40-year-old’s biography Life On The Line also revealed how he stole from his beloved gran to feed his addiction.

His confessions have prompted an upturn in the number of other players who have sought help.
Kevin said: “Since I started doing the talks and telling my story, I’ve been told that the
Professional Footballers Association Scotland have seen double the number of people coming forward and saying they have gambling problems. The PFA are delighted that the book is raising awareness.

“We are all taken aback by the reaction we have been getting since I started doing the talks and with the book.

“I’m delighted that people are taking a lot from it. If more people seek help after reading or hearing my story, that’s brilliant. That’s the reason I do these talks and why I wrote the book.”

It’s not only footballers who have taken action after reading Kevin’s book.

He said: “I have had about 1000 text messages of support. It’s overwhelming.”

Kevin has not placed a bet in seven years and has set up a decorating business.
