In Massachusetts, the propaganda has largely been driven by the construction unions.
Do the union leaders truly believe this delusion? Are they so blinded they have failed to consider the communities that have been destroyed? Examples and studies abound.
The unions transported union members from Atlantic City to proselytize while the Beacon Hill Bobble Heads nodded agreement.
Only one Senator asked the starting wage. Senator Sue Tucker, bless her!
The Bobble Heads nodded agreement without question, without challenge.
From Gambling Hurts:
When will politicians stop being hood-winked OR stop trying to hood-wink the people by the gambling industry ballshit that gambling is in any way good for the economy or job creation. Gambling transfers wealth out of countries into offshore tax havens benefiting a few mega rich and sponsors of the mega rich. In return it destroys lives, and communities with proliferation of gambling and its associated ills. The few minimum wage jobs the gambling industry create do not offset the damage to local business by the loss of wealth to these faceless corporations nor the loss of taxation by the cash transfers out of local economy. In addition there is significant additional negative consequences to gamblers and families of the drop out and marginalization of addicts in society. The gambling industry talk crap, gambling proliferation is mostly negative.
