Michigan: Bay Mills, A Tribe with a grand sense of humor!

How grand and glorious! Finally a Slot Barn called a "Resort Casino"!

After all, why waste money on glamorous surroundings, elegant restaurants and pretense when the intent is merely to suck money out of the local economy? Simply a reverse ATM machine!

At least they offer coffee. Wonder if it's free.

State Investigating New Otsego County Casino [video available at link]

Just two days after opening, the Attorney General's office is investigating a small Otsego County casino.

The Bay Mills Indian Community officially opened the new casino in Vanderbilt Wednesday.

The tribe says it's their right to operate a casino there, but other Michigan tribes, and the state government, aren't so sure.

The state says they were aware of the tribe's theory that by using special federal funds to buy the land, they had a right to open a gaming operation there.

But the governor's tribal advisor says they didn't wait until the department of interior signed off on that plan.

A meeting between the state and tribe is set for next week.
