Revenue drops in April at Cleveland casino

Staff report, Erie Times-News

Slot-machine gross revenue dropped significantly at Horseshoe Casino Cleveland in April compared to the prior month, the Ohio Casino Control Commission reported.

The revenue of nearly $12 million was down from the $16 million in March, according to the commission.

The Cleveland casino's slot revenue was nearly identical to the revenue from slot machines at Presque Isle Downs & Casino in April. The Erie casino's slot revenue was $11.8 million.

The Cleveland casino also experienced a slight decline in revenue from table games in April -- $7.9 million, compared to $8.5 million in March. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has not yet released the table games report from April for the 11 state casinos.

The Cleveland casino is among the top competitors for business at Presque Isle Downs & Casino. The Cleveland casino opened May 14, 2012.
