Cordish plans Massachusetts slot parlour
May 9, 2013
The project would include several restaurants, an entertainment area, meeting space, spa and fitness facilities, and - by state law - as many as 1,250 slot machines. It would employ 700 to 750 people, according to Cordish. [According to Slot Barns elsewhere, there are 3-4 Slot Machines per employee, not considering weekends and shifts.]
Cordish is one of four companies seeking the state’s sole slot parlour licence. The project, if accepted by the town and endorsed by local voters in a referendum, would compete with slot proposals in Plainville, Raynham and Worcester.

Casino developer Cordish Companies has plans for a $200m hotel and slot parlour in Boxborough in the US state of Massachusetts.
Under the proposal, Cordish would buy, renovate and expand an existing Holiday Inn at the junction of Route 111 and Interstate 495 and rebrand the property as a boutique hotel and casino. Part of the existing building would be demolished and replaced on a 20-acre parcel that is essentially surrounded by woods. The project would include several restaurants, an entertainment area, meeting space, spa and fitness facilities, and - by state law - as many as 1,250 slot machines.
