Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - November 21, 2012 - Rivers Casino fined for underage gambling
Rivers Casino has been fined $50,000 by the state gaming control board in connection with four incidents involving underage gambling and another in which a problem gambler gained access to slot machines.
The gambling board said the four incidents of underage gambling occurred between January and May and involved three 20-year-old individuals, two men and a woman, and a 19-year-old man. Each person gambled on slot machines before being discovered and banned from the casino, according to the gaming board. The casino was fined $45,000 for those breaches. In Pennsylvania, gamblers must be at least 21.
The casino was fined another $5,000 for a December 2011 incident in which a woman on the gaming board's self-exclusion list was able to obtain a players card and gamble on slot machines. The self-exclusion list allows people to ban themselves from gambling at state casinos. The casinos must refuse their wagers and deny them other privileges like players club membership.
