MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The hearing about the admissibility of FBI wire taps in the bingo corruption case ended Wednesday morning without a ruling.
Judge Wallace Capel's clerk claimed that he could make a decision by next week.
Casino owner Milton McGregor along with nearly a dozen other defendants have challenged the phone recordings.
McGregor, Dothan casino owner Ronnie Gilley, four former and current state lawmakers along with five others have been charged in a bribery scheme to help pass pro-gambling legislation.
Ten of the eleven have pleaded not guilty to charges.
Lobbyist Jarrod Massey has pleaded guilty to his role in the crime is already serving time.
The wire tap hearing last more than two days and included extensive testimony from the FBI about nearly 12,000 phone calls they recorded during the probe.
Cumberland Law School Dean John Carroll said Wednesday even if the prosecution overcomes this hurdle they must still prove the recording's admissibility at trial.
