BUSINESS HEAVIES JOIN STATE LEADERS IN PATRICK’S OFFICE

Competitive Partnership, a council of CEOs pushing economic development policies, was sitting down with Patrick, Senate President Therese Murray and Gov. Deval Patrick, but did not say why. Suffolk Construction president John Fish, Partners HealthCare chairman Jack Connors, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Putnam Investments CEO Robert Reynolds, and former Patrick economic development chief Daniel O’Connell, president of the nascent group, met Murray and DeLeo in Patrick’s lobby before heading into the governor’s suite. A complex economic development bill is pending before the Legislature in a conference committee. Murray allowed little in the way of revelation about the House-Senate conference committee on expanded gambling, telling reporters, "We're still working."
