Prime Minister David Cameron has pledged his support for a gambling addiction campaign set up by a family which was torn apart by the issue.
Mr Cameron has written to Sheffield entrepreneur Adam Bradford, who launched the #gambleresponsibly campaign with his father, David.David, aged 58, of Waterthorpe, Sheffield, was jailed for two years for fraud after stealing more than £50,000 from a company he worked for to feed his secret addiction.
Mr Cameron also said the government is launching a review of gambling advertising, covering both the watershed and sign-up offers.
Adam said: “It feels like a breakthrough. I know my dad is really pleased with it. It means this year’s worth of campaigning has all been worth it.
“Having gone through all this grief we can spin it on its head and do something positive about it.”
