Friday, February 8, 2013
A 25-year-old Wichita woman faces misdemeanor charges after she was arrested on suspicion of prostitution at the hotel at the Kansas Star Casino.
Mulvane Police Chief David Williams tells KAKE News 25-year-old Starkell Francis was arrested last Friday and booked into the Sumner County Jail.
The police department's investigation began, Williams said, after Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission agents reported suspicious behavior by the woman. She had allegedly been placing a business card with her picture and cell phone number under the windshield wipers of vehicles parked at the casino, Williams said.
A detective arranged a meeting with the suspect at the Hampton Inn and Suites at the casino. Williams said this is the first prostitution-related arrest at the casino or hotel and, as far as he knows, in the city of Mulvane's history.
