As a three decade Milford resident, I am extending my sincerest appreciation to our Board of Selectmen members Brian Murray, Dino DeBartolomeis and William Buckley for their proactive positions taken in response to the Foxwoods Casino presentation on April 8th.

At this late date, the absence of specific data and information on the impacts of a resort style casino on our town is a glaring preview of the treatment we might expect in the future. Our selectmen have offered proof that our local government will not fall prey to the promise of “shiny objects” when no objective evidence is forthcoming. My neighbors and I wish not to gamble with our homes, our neighborhoods or our investments to benefit some unsubstantiated promises.
