Foxwoods’ Dec. slot take up, Mohegan down

Although still trailing in overall revenue, Foxwoods resort casino has consistently bested rival Mohegan Sun in improving its year-over-year slot win in fiscal 2011 and showed more improvement in December.

Foxwoods reported... a 1.2 percent increase from December 2009.

Mohegan Sun for December posted ... a 6.5 percent decrease from December 2009. With the exception of July, Mohegan has posted monthly losses in slot revenue compared to 2009. July held a 1.7 percent increase over July 2009 for Mohegan Sun, but the casino benefitted from a fifth Saturday in that month.

Both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun are still down in revenue compared to fiscal 2010, mirroring a five-year trend for Mohegan Sun and a 10-year trend for Foxwoods. Compared to last fiscal year, Foxwoods collection of $331.2 million in slot win is down 1.0 percent; while Mohegan Sun's collection of $364.2 million in slot win is down 3.4 percent.
