The little town of Palmer, flattered by the attention and blinded by the bright lights, possessing ethically-challenged folks like Paul Burns, ignored the projected costs of the Study Committee and pretended it didn't exist. Never let the facts intrude!
Even more curious is the willingness to ignore the layoffs at both Connecticut Slot Parlors, the financial implosions, and the unsustainable debt load that chills capital markets.
Spectrum Gaming prepared a report for the CT DOSR, a few excerpts may be found here and here. A business partner's conduct elsewhere might give pause to reasonable people.
New Mohegan chairman: Casino a priority
Bozsum wants to pursue western Mass. casino

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - The new chairman of the Mohegan Tribal Council says keeping the tribe's Connecticut casino competitive and moving forward on a western Massachusetts casino project are among his priorities.
Bruce "Two Dogs" Bozsum told The Day of New London after his election Monday that the economy makes every day a challenge. He says the tribe is facing competition from proposed expanded gambling opportunities in New York and Rhode Island.
Bozsum, who lives in South Kingstown, R.I. says the tribe remains "committed" to pursuing a casino project in Palmer, Mass., where it has optioned property for a smaller version of Mohegan Sun. Expanded gambling needs legislative approval in Massachusetts.
Bozsum, 50, was previously chairman from 2005 to 2009 and says he's comfortable in the position
Who is asking why Bozsum lives in S. Kingstown, R.I. and not on Tribal land? Aren't casinos good neighbors? Could is be because those who can afford to live away from casinos, choose to do so?
