Lawsuits just keep Rolin in for Pierre
Financier and former Credit Suisse property banker Pierre Rolin can't keep away from the courts.
It emerged earlier this month that the Tory party donor is being sued by a "mystery Middle Eastern investor". The matter at hand is £30m of allegedly fraudulent invoices.
We'll leave that one to play out in the courts and concern ourselves for the moment with another area of Mr Rolin's financial woes – his gambling debts.
In April, upmarket casino Les Ambassadeurs Club filed a suit against Rolin (pictured right between Don Johnson and Bob Geldof) over a £60,000 debt incurred when 12 cheques for between £3,000 and £10,000 drawn on the same day bounced. He was ordered to pay nearly £65,000.
While it is still not sure whether this has been paid off, a second bill could on its way. Another casino, The Clermont Club, filed a suit against poor Pierre just last week. We await more details with interest.
