DeLeo’s losing bet

DeLeo’s losing bet

ISN’T IT ironic that House Speaker Robert DeLeo, who so forcefully denied the well-documented perils of gambling, now knows what it’s like to gamble everything and lose? His insistence on no-bid slots at the racetracks appeared to be intended to pour money into the pockets of his friends at the expense of the citizens of the Commonwealth. He bluffed and lost. It’s good to know that the House doesn’t always win.

Good points, but living in one of the communities targeted by a Casino Vulture, it's important to know that "THEY" don't give up.

"THEY" spent $60 million in Pennsylvania and were forced to cram legislation through at midnight on the 4th of July, a pathetic display for a state so important to the liberty of this nation and the foundation of our democracy.

"THEY" spent $50 million in Ohio on the 5th attempt to win voter approval and only by 6 points.

Beacon Hill is letting them off cheap.
