False promises in Massachusetts created misguided union support for the Beacon Hill Follies of Casino Legislation, as a review of history proves.
Foxwoods to appeal union vote
The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 371, which [includes] bartenders, drink servers, and bar porters voted to affiliate with by a vote of 190 to 145, reiterated its calls for the casino to let the vote stand.
Foxwoods had appealed NLRB jurisdiction in the case, saying that tribal law should govern union elections on tribal lands.
